Kid in a Candystore (Humor)
By dianes
Ahh, to be a kid in a candystore, To get a little treat, Standing in front of the counter, Drooling at the sweets. Do you want some toffee, Maybe some non parells, How bout some candy buttons, Gosh, they are all so swell. You only have so much money, Want as much as you can get, Your eyes are big as saucers, You haven’t decided yet. You try all the samples, Of the chocolate, Now that you had those, You can get some other stuff. Finally you see it, Big as can be, A gigantic lollipop, On a wooden tree. It has all the colors, Swirled all around, You know that when you lick it, Your rainbow tongue will stick out. Man, the other kids be jealous, Of your giant lollipop, You pay the store clerk for it, Out the door you do hop. You rip off the wrapper, Can’t wait to taste this pop, Someone bumps into you, Onto the sidewalk it drops. You stand there in amazement, Can’t believe they bumped into you, Didn’t even say they were sorry, Now what do you do. It’s still mostly together, Little pieces did break off, You casually look around, Reach down, dust it off. You skip down the sidewalk, Licking you lolli as you go, A little dirt won’t hurt you, So, who’s gonna know… Written February 26th, 2002 © on Feb 26 2002 12:12 AM PST 0 • 14
