Night Falls
By dianes
Night falls once again, Slowly casting its shadows, Not only across the earth, But, also my thoughts. I can feel it creep, Bringing with it the fears, The self doubts, Along with its friend, insecurity. My body starts to draw up, Into that fetal position, Sensing the gloom of night, Drawing in close for protection. It’s not the fear of physical harm, It's the fear of the mental anguish, Why is it the stillness of the night, Brings with it the pain. I close my eyes tight, Wishing away the darkness, The doubts and fears, Praying for the light of a new dawn. Knowing the sun, Will chase the fears, Bringing with it new hope, And a chance to make the darkness fade away. Written February 2nd, 2002 © on Feb 02 2002 11:11 AM PST 18 • 0 • 12
