Out of Nowhere
By dianes
Out of nowhere he came, A man who had nothing to gain, But maybe some friendship, A kind word or two, Out of that a special friendship grew. Spent many nights talking, Of our own hopes and dreams, Some of them each of us had accomplished, Some of them had burned up in flames, Then spoke of the new ones, we each hoped to attain. It was so nice to meet someone new, Who I had things in common with, With new points of view, Lots of laughter, lots of words, But never were any of them ever heard. I had never seen him, He had never seen me, It wasn’t an issue for either you see, It was two people just having some fun, Typing to each other, one on one. I often wonder, If we had passed on the street, Would either have us thought, This is someone I might want to meet, Or lowered our eyes and been more discreet. Online you talk to many different people, From all walks of life, Some you become friends with, Closer than others, Some are just funny, like IM jokers. It’s amazing how in such a short time, If the person is honest, Not a game player online, Your lives and friendships, Start to entwine. Don’t know how far this friendship will go, Maybe only on the net it will grow, Then one day and one step at a time, If it’s meant to be more, Each of us will come to know.
