People Laugh at Me

People laugh at me, When I say I talk to people online. They say oh, get real! What a waste of time! I will admit there are phonies, Who hide behind their screens, But I met just as many in real life, As I have behind the screen. Once you have been online, For a certain amount of time, You can pick out the phonies, You’ve heard all the same lines. If you happen to get lucky, You meet some mighty nice ones, And once you get to know them, Friends you do become. I think of all the people, Who are homebound you see, Sometimes people on the computer, Are their only company. Do you tell those people, That their friends they made online, Are only fantasies, They created in their mind. So let my friends and family think what they want, My online friends are my friends, And give me more, Than what (they call) real life cannot."to me if I say you are my friend, you are just as real to me as if you were in the same room, and I care about you just as much as if I saw you everyday, even if you are and IM away!"
