The Lonley Fairy
By dianes
In the lush green forest amidst the chatter of nature sits a lonely fairy, Her tiny wings folded round her lithe body, Little hands over her angelic face, Hiding her tears. While all her fairy family and friends are off flittering to and fro, She sits alone, Unnoticed, Not missed in all the business of their day. She chides herself for her self-pity, Knowing she has things to do, Responsibilities every fairy needs to attend to, Finding neither the energy nor ambition to do so. All around her she hears the sound of nature, Mates calling to each other, Out searching for their food to nurture their young, Fairy friends playfully taunting each other in song. She listens attentively, Trying to chase away her blues, Absorbing the beauty around her, Knowing life will go on with or without her. As she stand upon a toadstool, Stretching, reaching deep within her tiny soul, She finds the strength, and her song once more. Knowing once she can sing again, she will make it another day. Her filigree wings unfold behind her, Arms outstretched, she takes off, And the most heart touching melody, Parts from her red ruby lips. The tiniest little fairy has found her song again, As she flitters and flutters busying herself, Lifting her voice to join, Once more in nature’s continuing melody. My first try at a fairy story....
