Truck Drivin Man (Part 2)
By dianes
She rolls over and pats the bed, Finds the pillow where he layed his head, Rolls over to lay her head there too, Holding onto the warmth his body has left. She knows he's gone, He's started his day, She heard that truck horn, As he pulled away. Opens one eye, Looks at the clock, It time to shower, Gets up and walk. She checks on the children, Gets the table all set, They can watch cartoons and eat. To get them all ready is such a feat. She steals away into the shower Remembering her man, The touch of his kiss, The feel of his hands. Ok, the clock is ticking, Let's go she says to the kids, Grab your backpacks, Locking the door behind. Off to the van, Like ducks in a row, Following their momma, To school they go. She drives down the road, Her mind all awhirl, Praying for her man's safe return, To her and her girls. Written January 25th, 2002 © on Jan 25 2002 01:57 AM PST 0 • 8
