Walls Have Come Apart
By dianes
There now my wall is finished, No one can break through, All the mortar is dry and set, No more pain from you. It took many bricks to build this wall, Lots of years of tears too, But now I have my protection, Especially, from you. I never thought about the fact, The wall not only holds you out, It holds out a lot of people, I really care about. So some slip though the cracks, Where the mortar has broken through, It’s been many years the wall has been there, My protection from the world and you. These walls surrounded my heart, To keep out all the pain, But my heart kept up beating, And the pain remained the same. Somehow he snuck through the cracks, Surprised me so much you see, He took out so many bricks, Now he sees the real me. He has scaled the barbed wire, My last defense to my lonely heart, He has brought me love once again, Replaced the pain with his claim, Those walls have come apart.
