when she left I climbed into this little box closed the lid blotted out the sky so I wouldn't see her face in the stars in glittering twilight hear her voice birdsong on an ocean breeze feel her lips as unwelcome sunlight brushed my cheek just for a little while safe and warm dark and protected trapped in a womb created for myself the darkness is so complete sense of time sense of direction gone can't recall the way escape forgotten this little box will be my tomb Written January 31st, 2002 © on Jan 30 2002 05:31 PM PST   18 • 0 • 1
