More Than Hope
By Don Baird
twisting turning churning crying hoping for an end loving playing giggling winking hoping it lasts forever but wanting it to end right now one side to the other continuous vacillation a human condition hoping for one but getting another wanting the other but getting one aimlessly weaving down empty dreams hoping for a compass but hope alone won't help simplicity is lost complexity is gained peace of mind gone but then who's calling the shots really is there a mirror of where to point why not use denial temper and blame or stand up and fight and conquer yourself the only enemy you really haveMy teacher used to always say "we have only one opponent and that is ourselves"..... and "to conquer that opponent is to conquer ourselves"...... and therefore "victory is at hand". It's a turbulent sea but we have God's ability to swim. Monk Written March 19th, 2002 © on Mar 18 2002 04:39 PM PST, Don Baird 0 • 10
