A Chance

By Doret67

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I may have another chance, This time I'll get it right. This kind of opportunity Doesn't happen every night. This time I'll rein my irony And keep an open mind. Instead of seeking out the faults I'll try, the best, to find. Sometimes my tongue escapes me And leaps beyond my heart. I know the sorrow it can cause, It caused our hearts to part. It's caused me trouble in the past. It's hard to say it plain, But know I'm saying it to you... I'm sorry... for the pain. Written October 30th, 2001 © on Oct 30 2001 01:15 AM PST   0 • 12
