Innocence Played By Peace
There are always dream of world Peace. Peace for who though? There are so many definitions of Peace. For America, it's having everyone in their own places, not hurting anyone. People worry about themselves on petty levels.... "Oh my hair..., Oh my teeth..., my nail !" Yet there are a few others who worry about not themselves, but their families. Here's a story...... I'm standing in the lobby of a building. I see people scurrying about. Their own time being spent the way they want and need. Going to work, taking care of business. Just an average day. I then see something special. A family. Walking through the lobby towards the window to see the amazing skyline before them. A blond wife, brown headed husband, a brown haired daughter with a little red ribbon in her hair. An elegant little contrast in this bland picture. She was clutching her little teddy bear while gazing on in amazement. I admire how serene these three seem in their outing together. Suddenly, the lights are out. Everything is foggy. The wife falls through the floor. The husband is thrown from the child. Terror seizes hold of me, the child and the father. As the entire floor and ceiling crumble about me I see the father as he looks on at his precious daughter screaming in terror. The last time he would ever see her. Then it has ended. It's over. I push through the rubble and see the little child laying motionless within the rubble, still clutching her bear. I feel compelled to hold her. To heal her wounds. Yet I can't. I awake. It was just a dream. Yet at school I hear of one man's quest to rid the world of the US. His own quest for Peace. Though his was through the mass slaughtering of innocence. Peace should never come from violence. That is an oxymoron to me. Yet someday it will be achieved the right way, ............................ What ever that may be. Yes, I had a dream, The night before September 11th.*tear falls from my cheek* I wish I would have never seen this. Written January 25th, 2002 © on Jan 25 2002 02:34 PM PST 18 • 0 • 1
