Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Venice,is being condemned to a slow death Gradually being removed from this earth As it slowly sinks into it's own lagoon The italian government, must act soon St Marks square gets continually flooded But does anyone really care Or are they all just unaware Of the impending floods Set to reduce this romantic city To a slow death by drowning Are the alarm bells really sounding. The future lives of venice folk Are hanging by a thread Something must be done very soon Before this city sinks to a watery death. Written December 13th, 2001 © on Dec 13 2001 12:22 AM PST   10 • 0
