Inner Energy
By dyejunkie
Weak, undisputed fatigue lies upon me.It pushes me down, cripples my stride.Travelling North, fighting the southbound wind.In my own bleak world, Watching life’s pleasures outside the dark climate that engulfs me. That same old storm, That familiar darkness. With my will power broken and my spirit drained,I fall unto my knees, And call out for help.My screams deflected by the prison that surrounds me.Un-affected shells of people passing by,Oblivious to my cries for aid, For my need to break free.Only seeing what they wish, and doing what they will.Until, one day, I pass you.A glimmer of sunlight catches your face, As the sun beams out light, radiating the colours of nature around you.The bright green grass under your feet, And the trickles of water around you as the spring rain trickles from the sky.You take a glimpse in my direction,“Do you see me?”A second look, as your smile turns upside down with the pain you see me in.“Can you help me?” I shout at the walls bubble surrounding me.As you pound your fists against my cage. Until…you stop.Using no force to aid my freedom. You look at me, and take one step back.Smile at me, as our eyes meet with a brilliant force. You lean forward, and lure me close to the side of my prison. As I press my ear against the wall, to listen to your words,You whisper softly in my ear, the codeword to my soul.My cage falls down, my storm subsides, and my inner self soars free. The world outside glows bright again, as I engulf you in my radiance. My inner energy soars free...you saved me.~ For Angie ~ Written October 28th, 2001 © on Oct 28 2001 07:08 AM PST 18 • 0 • 12
