Hold Out Your Hand
By Emmerson
Close your eyes; Imagine me there, Looking deep into you, With a soulful stare. Feel my fingers, As the outline of your jaw, I trace. Watch as a single tear escapes, And trickles down my face. In that single tear drop, So many things have formed. All the reasons why I love you, Plus all the reasons I am torn. Years worth of memories, In one solitary tear drop. Containing all the things I am, And all the things I'm not. Every dream I have ever dreamt, Every wish I had hoped, would come true. Every melting moment, Every thought, I've thought of you. Hold your hand out quickly now, Catch it as it falls. In your palm you now have, A solitary piece of me. Look into it deeply, What is it that you see? I hope you see its intricate beauty, Including all the things, you never saw. A kaliedescope of beautiful colours, That leaves your eyes begging for more. Stare at it, remember it, That glistening piece of me. For in your palm you now have, The last piece you will ever see. Written February 1st, 2002 © on Jan 31 2002 10:50 PM PST 0 • 8 • 1
