An Abused Trust
By Ender
An Abused Trust I laugh at the ignorance of this world, at my own misery slowly unfurled, And ask myself how they can expect me to love When all they do is knock me down, stabbed in the back and beaten around, The darkened raven replaces the dove I’ve never considered being afraid, for there’s only hate for those that betrayed, Me when I opened myself to them Truly mistaken in this was I, and now I see no longer a reason to try, Foolishly my own soul I did condemn And now the tears burn my eyes, for any hope I ever have always dies, And everyone abuses my trust So I see nowhere to go with my life, end it now or continue the strife, Darkened heart of mine is rust Written November 24th, 2001 © on Nov 24 2001 06:26 AM PST 18 • 0 • 1
