Sunset Lament
By Ender
Sunset Lament my heart's flown the skies of heaven, and dragged the grounds of hell. i've spent many nights awake remembering how far i fell. the road that brought me to this place long since made me weak of heart, but the time and everything faded; and with it tore me apart. even so, i'd give it all up if it meant i could see her face, relinquish in the moment of that eternal embrace. but withered is the rose that was that dream, lost to my touch like leaves on a stream. the storm has left me weary and beaten, but still i stand, as ever so alone. a new hope risen that i'd long since forsaken, in the light that my own sunset shone.
