Pollution:Dying man to his son

By evergreens

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Open your eyes and look at the sky. Rising sun emits rays- The fog enveloping the whole town Sunlight scarcely hits the floor! Take a deep breath To let the clean air fill the lungs! Alas, the ozone layer is depleted, The air is polluted! Drink the spring water To quench your thirst; My child, the water is salty- Contamination has spoiled its taste! Plough the land deep So that you could plant crops: My dear, the land is barren Radiation has devoured its fertility!A man in his death-bed remembers the good old times, when everything was fresh and lovely, unpolluted. Industrial pollution has taken its toll on nature. This is an old villager lamenting,to his young sun. Written February 3rd, 2002 © on Feb 02 2002 09:23 PM PST, Vivekanandam K.M.G.   0 • 1
