To Dad,with love
By evergreens
Dad,I remember your unsmiling face Grim look and thoughtful countenence; As a growing kid, It frightened me no end! "Whop",school-teacher's slap landed on my cheek, Punishment for indulging in mischief. When you heard this I saw fire in your eyes. Bed-ridden with fever and cough, At midnight,I woke up To see you sitting by the bedside, Fondly stroking my forehead. Now,in middle age,I recollect The love you would have felt Behind the facade of toughness, Towards your son!Walking down memory lane,I remember: Our Father, Sri.K.M.C.GANESAN was a strict disciplinarian. Whatever he did,was only for the welfare of his children. As kids,we were afraid of him and there was a big communication gap! Father died at the age of 62,during 1989. Now as a middle-aged man,I recollect his actions and see only love and affection behind everything he did. Written April 16th, 2002 © on Apr 16 2002 03:26 AM PST, Vivekanandam K.M.G. 18 • 0 • 8
