Sunlight dances, through the leaves Elvish children, run as they please For many a year now war has past The Elf kingdom is free at last But somewhere lurking is a breeze Through the whispers of the trees The maples and oaks bow to their knees In answer to the devilish pleas A hot summer day scolds the land The ground sweats from steamy glands Hoping someday the rain will come Hoping someday to have their fun The children used to laugh but now they cry The Elves and their people always tried For too long now the rain was passed By a warmth that seemed it would always last But somewhere out there, there is a crowd bringing the coolness of rain in a cloud And when that cloud sheds it's tears The Elves will stop their fears So abrupt the rain did come That the kingdom of Rivendell lost their one The King had tried to calm their cries But the time had come for agony to rise For all the children in all the land Sung Elvish songs all in a band This came in accord to the one 'till she returned The childrens cries, from their hearts still burned Until this fateful day the land had had their peace With the Oaks the Maples, and other trees But now the Trees have left their posts To give up lenience to other hosts What will become of this Elvish town Rivendell the place of frowns? I hope someday you'll understand That Rivendell was the saddest land"Rivendale" is actually a song from RUSH, but in no way did I copy there lyrics. If I posted their lyrics I would tell you. But this is a song done by ME. Written January 5th, 2002 © on Jan 05 2002 07:14 AM PST 0 • 12
