"Time To Fade" ~~~~~~ Long days gone by A life engaged to the fullest Under a dying moon Sorrow permeates through the white-walled tomb Clinging like a lost child found in a forest of darkness Light reaches through the twisting branches Strange winds circle the mind A burning river flows Through the corroded roots of the heart A body rising to an unrelenting God ~~~~~~ Face to the sky A man cries into a downpour Broken wings of yesterday to wither here, unborn Floating thoughts on an invisible high Walking barefoot in the rain, lost Wondering Wandering Along an ocean of intoxicating toxic fuel Food for the firestorm of legends A man drowns in an empty pool of indulgence Tapping the flat line mainline Hanging from a twisted thread of sanity Surgical insurgence Injecting the words of an unwritten suicide note ~~~~~~ As your spring turns to summer So does your fall succumb to winter A cold embrace smothering the warm beauty within Even the strongest crumble, in time Your skyline turns accepting to gray Your trees shudder and shake under whirling brainstorms Your fields of color collapse and welcome a blackening dust Your world rejects the blooming of new life You lie down deep with your fallen roses The scents of regret surfing petals of blood red A poor, weakened man So high, so low ~~~~~~ Standing on the edge of sanity To jump was his intention Quickly the ocean rose to greet his tired soul He could not swim in this unforgiving beast As it took him to the depths of endless sleep An ending no needle could revive, though some tried In vain In veins Today he would not die a little more As he had no more left Written October 1st, 2001 © on Oct 04 2001 05:50 PM PST   18 • 0 • 1
