Savouring this Moment.(A challenge poem)

I had forgotten That we were supposed to be in love Two people joined Together at the heart To many things had gone wrong Doubts transformed into a sad reality An unforgiving bondage that kept me away from you I loved you then And I love you now Yet I realise That it's time to move on To let you love another All I ask If you deem it possible In that heart of yours Is one last kiss Few are the truely magic moments in life When one falls in love Truely for the first time It is an awakening To the very meaning of life it's self That moment When I look into your eyes As you said yes I knew that we Could capture some of that essence Once more You blinked slowly As if coming to life Your eyes widening slightly As I leant towards you Over the low rail fence that separated us My hands drifting up to your face Wanting to cradle you Gently and lovingly Your hands hesitant And unsure You eased yourself into my embrace Looking up into my eyes Yours glistening with The beginnings of tears Gazing down at you I realised how much I loved you Knowing that we could not go back Wanting to start our time again Savouring this moment As if it was my last Dropping my chin As you tilted up towards me I grazed my lips across your forread The tip of my tougue Memorizing furrowed brow Bringing them down Past eyelashes fluttering Cheeks reddened To rest at last Upon the velvet richness of your own Trembling together As if our bodies remembered Whom we once were Tentively I opened my mouth Pushing against your fragile resistance Tongue protuding to taste at last The salt of your tears Your own joining mine In a dance of love's sharing Deeper and deeper we embraced Lips and tongues merging Hands caressing and loving All forgotten in that timeless moment Each wanting it to last forever Transforming our past Into a wonderous present I don't know who pulled away first We each stood back As if released form restraints Stupified and dazed Smiling I looked at her Those eyes that had enchanted me always She looked up at me Tears in her eyes She embraced me Squeezing the life That I had just so recently discoved Out of my soul As she turned crying And walked back Into the houseyes.....another kiss challenge :o) Written March 27th, 2002 © on Mar 26 2002 07:51 PM PST   18 • 0 • 8
