The tale of the wee brew of the Brawny Highlanders.
By FaeSinner
Five Brawny Highlanders Did perchance happen apon a maiden tall and fair About to be eaten by a Dragon They set about to rescue her Hang about Dragon they said How about a wee bit o' brew To wash down with that sweet morsel When you're through Oh aye, the Dragon said That I wouldn't mind at all But then again where are my manners Let me make a toast before I feast this maiden tall So they poured that brew of the Brawny Highlanders Into five horns and a bucket for the Dragon With a toast to good heath "Slainte mhor" They drank enough to drain two flagons Ahh said the Dragon This is a grand brew But the as the Five Brawny Highlanders looked on The Dragon did gasp and flop about It cried Out this brew is to strong! With it's tail between it's legs The Dragon flew away It looked back with a baleful stare and said I'll come back and eat the lass some other day What do you reckon's wrong with it said one Highlander It tastes all right to me noted another Tha Dragons got a bit of weak stomach He wasn't worth the bother As they laughed amongst themselves These Five brawney Highlanders They looked over to the maiden fair Whom had woken from fainting in fear "Would ye be wantin' a wee bit o' brew?" They knowingly offered. This poem was inspired by one of CoyoteMoon's colourful comments and my thanks to StrmDncr and Highland dreams for providing me with a wee bit of foundation.Thank ye, all three:);) Written January 1st, 2002 © on Jan 01 2002 02:18 PM PST 0 • 14
