I look back on the day, When we said our good-byes. And I will always say, That I’m glad I cried. I remember when we looked at each other’s faces, And cried because the other was crying. Leaving behind three years of security, Leaving you, to go on to a place unknown… I never wanted to leave, I wanted to be there to the end. And now I’m glad to say, I love you like a best friend. I look back on the day, When we said our good-byes. And I will always say. That I’m glad I cried. I’m not leaving you forever, Just to a different place. It was so, so sad. To see the tears fall down your face. You will know how it feels, When your time comes to an end. And I hope you’ll be glad to say, You love me like a best friend. I look back on the day, When we said our good-byes. And I will always say, That I’m glad I cried. We shared so many secrets, Some that none will ever know. And just the thought of, You not being there in the morning. It makes me sad to think, I will have to wait to share my thoughts. But I want you to know, That I value “you “ as a person So much, no one can explain. I look back on the day, When we said our good-byes. And I will always say. That I’m glad I cried. I need a friend so much like you. I want you to be near me, I want to feel loved. And make you feel loved. Never change, Because I will always remember you. I know I may pretend, To be one way, But you know how I am always. You can see right thought the act. You can see the real pain inside. I look back on the day, When we said our good-byes. And I will always say. That I’m glad I cried. But did you know? That I am not going to say good-bye, I will see you again. I’ll make sure I see you again. I’m not letting you get past me. Whether you like it or not, I’m going to love you like a best friend. Forever I will never forget. I look back on the day, When we said our good-byes. And I will always say. That I’m glad I cried. I will talk to you tomorrow, Keep me in your thoughts. And as I go off to high school Remember me as I was. I look back on the day, When we said our good-byes. And I will always say. That I’m glad I cried. I’ll remember you until the end. I’m so glad you are my best friend. Written November 7th, 2001 © on Nov 07 2001 07:28 AM PST   0 • 1
