~Is There Light Underneath The Water?~

Is there light underneath the water? Is a question I often ask But no one seems to know the answer And I put it away to the back of my mind Until something else makes me remember The cold dreary days when the rain falls And I’m all alone by myself With no one to talk to And no one to listen to Is there light underneath the water? Those days when I am surrounded By people that say they care But they’re off doing what they’re doing And leaving me to sulk All alone and jealous… and yet pretend to be happy Is there light underneath the water? When you start swimming on a day so bright And you fell like you can’t go on You can’t get your arms to move To help you glide along Water seeps into your mouth You cough and try to swim back But you feel someone tugging you under And it’s your breath that lacks When you can’t keep your head up any longer And you feel yourself slipping by Pulled by the weight of the world No longer can you fly You’re all alone in the cold You shiver as you are pulled down Thinking about the maybes If you could have turned you life around Those days that are too good to be true And you feel like someone cares With someone to talk to And someone to listen to There is light underneath the water Then the sky comes crashing down And it falls hard on your head And you wonder what you could have been thinking Because you are luckless An outcast No, there is no light underneath the water Is there light underneath the water?
