The shadows elongate Suggesting the oncoming of night I shiver from the change of wind And wrap my arms around myself I can see your image drifting in and out A smile cracks upon my face A soft laugh escaping from my lips The stars start to twinkle As I look up into the sky Reminded of the little rhyme from my childhood Star light star bright First star I see tonight I wish I may I wish I might Wish upon this star tonight. I softly close my eyes biting on my lip I make a wish as I start to walk again The wind pushes my hair in my face. Suddenly I feel very alone and venerable As if someone is watching me Every step I take, they know where I go, And where I’m going. I call out for you Thinking in the recesses of my mind that you’ve come to find me The world begins to turn, my head feeling light. I fall on the ground. You’re name echoing on my lips I know you can hear me I just know you can So why won’ t you come? Come help me up? Can’t you see? That I need you Oh so badPlease look at my other poems.
