To Auntie Yetta
By Fred
You never said goodbye you just went away. You darkened my blue sky, with you went every ray. I asked the Lord why, did someone like you go He said it was His will, he's in charge you know. Although the battle's not mine, it's hard to take And I couldn't help but cry, seeing you at your wake. You were so beautiful and almost looked still alive But still you were gone, dead beneath our mournful cries. So Auntie Yetta, this poem is just for you today I'll never forget you, I'll miss you every step of the way. Every wind that blows will whisper to me your name Y E T T A, Y E T T A, and my heart will pain. Why you're gone, only God will know why Sometimes, I'll think of you and just cry. But God is still worthy even in our darkest night I'll get there one day, and then we'll all be all right. Written September 26th, 2001 © on Sep 26 2001 02:41 AM PST 0 • 1
