A Pleasant Place
By Freewriter
I know a pleasant place to be, that can be between just you and me. Just sit right down, and listen close, and think of pleasant things. Think of a flower filled field of many colors, of a stream that doesn't yield to your stresses, full of fish and frogs. Feel the warm summer breeze, the sun shining through the trees. Listen to the array of birds, singing in perfect harmony. Look up above, as eagles wheel and soar on whisps of air, as though they had not a care, screaming their glorious call. Now, let's think of another pleasant place to be. It doesn't have to be very far away, you see. Just close your mind's eye, and imagine a small clearing, lined with many circles of trees. And just inside the clearing lie logs for resting upon. Through the middle runs a fresh, spring-fed stream with a waterfall at its close end. As you search the sky,you see a large flock of mallard ducks, calling their warm greetings to you as they circle for nesting grounds. You, nestled within the bow of a large log, swing your legs. Can your bare feet feel the cool, lush, velvet-like carpet of deep green grass? We know a pleasant place to be, that is between just you and me. And, what's best is that we may visit again, whenever we please. Written January 13th, 2002 © on Jan 12 2002 04:37 PM PST 18 • 0 • 13
