Love's Doorway

By gin69er

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I thought that if I loved you That it would be enough I believed the words you said But now I call your bluff For you have uttered 'I love you' More than once my dear Well now's the time to prove it Your failure's what I fear You whisper that 'I love you' And then you turn and walk away Your actions tell me volumes More than words can say So if you TRULY love me Then walk back through that door You'll be safe in my loving embrace In my arms for evermore But if my love for you is unwanted Please keep the doorway shut My heart can't take this indecision I've given my all, should I just give up? The ball is in your court It's all up to you The doorway is just there But will you my love come through? Written February 20th, 2002 © on Feb 20 2002 02:34 PM PST   0 • 1
