Back to the Wall **challenge**
By Guinevere3
I could hear the phone calls, "We've just got to nip this in the bud..." They wanted to lock me away The door slammed above "It's for your own good, trust me," But they don't know what's for my good. Sure I'm starving for Their attention a bit too absurd. Screaming and running, I tried To escape, but silenced too young In a cage of the strange I was different than those among my withering body, they thought I was Funny In and out of this place Each holiday that passed My family stopped speaking grace Of my face, I disappeared, excepth In their whispers But they could not know What it felt like to be watched by video camera's They did not feel the isolation Of knowing the only fresh air would Be a field trip to another floor of the hospital To give blood or bile And my name forgotten, a number, that's all Written March 17th, 2002 © on Mar 17 2002 02:38 PM PST 20 • 0 • 13
