I've seen distance, Heard voices carried on the wind, Hands reaching up from the otherworld. I've known a thousand truths, Felt poetry to the core of my soul, Smelled emotion. Knew that somewhere There was thought; I've seen the currents of energy Between the lobes of your brain. I've flashed brilliance And suffered darkness To birth ideas. I have been the silent wood, The boiling sea, The screaming winds. I have inspired love In all 3 realms Yet never felt it touch my soul; I have sent kisses to a thousand warriors Marching off to battle. I have seen horses fall, Great people conquered, Cities crumble And all the while I defined history. Written January 22nd, 2002 © on Jan 21 2002 09:07 PM PST   0 • 13
