No End
By H i d e
The trees tremble, in the dim light of the moon As I gaze into the shadows, I know they'll catch up soon Tearing at the bark, of the dead grey trees The creatures screech, making me freeze At the edge of a chasm, I stare into the deep Seeing my escape, to my death I may leep The gentle roar of their rage, lets me know they are near Filling all of my pores, to the brim with great fear I consider my state, do I jump or do I wait Searching for an answer, I realize my fate To the bottom of the abyss, I shall go This is the end, that I know Just as they come, to my point on the ledge I realize that, I'm standing at the edge Facing the fears, that chased me here They meant to kill me, their claws quite sheer Slowly now, they crept to my side For my body, they intended to divide Just as the first, took a swing for my neck I took my dive, on my short way to Heck As I fell towards the shadows, to which my fate was fused I looked up at them, and they seemed quite amused For little had I known, there was no end To the Hole in the earth, I thought was my friendWrote this for one of those challenges for fun, buy I kind of like it so I put it up as a regular, with a small edit that didn't work on the challenge page @_@ Written January 5th, 2002 © on Jan 04 2002 05:45 PM PST 0 • 10
