Forest and Field
By h2whoa
I know that where I am Now, Is not where I shall always Be, In a forest of naked giants reaching Out their wooden bones, Embracing the charcoal sky Of the night. I lost the path when the Thorny fingers clutched my naked Skin, Tearing my face as they Pulled me in. But you've come to lead me back To an open field, Away from the jealous monsters Who would hold me with their shackle-roots. The sun will pour down on me It's glorious honey, as a gentle breeze Kisses my cheek. I am cold and have in my mouth A stone of fear, But I will be warm and have in my mouth The fruit of freedom. Be patient. Written December 6th, 2001 © on Dec 05 2001 06:15 PM PST 18 • 0 • 12
