Remain Here
By h2whoa
A sharp intake of breath slices down My throat and the wind assaults My eyes. I will not sleep because I cannot dream But sleep is all that will remain. Remain here and dance with me, I would lead your soul gracefully Through the skeletal corpses Of our cities. We shall dance when we are dead. Dead eyes will look upon a deadened sky, Would we see through the smoke? Fire will engulf us all And the Earth will tremble In fear. Fear of endings with no new beginings has made me realise, That I love you more than you will know, More than I could ever show. Show begins. When the meteor flames lick our bodies, know this: The infinite heat that they'll produce are of ice, Compared to my passion for you.Originally written as a challenge poem.
