Ages and Eons (survivor challenge #5)
By heinzs
Ages and Eons (survivor challenge #5) I lie here in wait... for I know not what. Countless seasons have passed, leaving their marks on me. Frost has cracked my surface, rain has washed bits of me away. I once moved 12 feet during a tremendous earthquake! Small animals scurry over me... I particularly like the voles and hedgehogs. I remember the dinosaurs. I was born in a fiery cataclysm... my mother Gaea, my father Vulcan. Earth and Fire are my heritage, yet I lie here cold and unyielding. A moss has taken root in one of my many cracks. It tickles, but I cannot laugh. I remain humorless and stoic, doomed to utter silence. I am stone... the very rock under your unwashed feet! 4/3/2002Ok... how inanimate can you get but the very rocks of the Earth? Here is one such rock's story.
