Blood and Sand
By heinzs
Blood and Sand The sands of Samarkhand and Kurdestan Absorb the blood of the fallen Hero and foe alike, comingled in death. One sanguine river flowing Feeding the hungry earth The same end for all, no mercy. Time's cycle renews Yet hiccups every now and then And the tragedies long past Repeat once more on a new pallette. Where is today's messenger The Heaven-sent messiah for our time? In this world of 5 billion souls Would we recognize the One? We hear not the crying of millions dying How can we hope to hear one voice No matter how clear or true it may ring? Yet that voice speaks to each And every one of us, silently from within. It is we who choose not to heed its call The end of this will be man's fall. 12/27/2001 Written December 27th, 2001 © on Dec 26 2001 07:03 PM PST, Heinz Scheuenstuhl 0 • 10
