Caution on the Nile
By heinzs
Caution on the Nile River bank, lush and green - swirls and eddies mar the surface. Water murky - greenish brown - conceals another world within its depths. Buffalo bellows displeasure, begrudgingly pulls the plow - encouraged by flicks of the whip. Time for planting - soil newly enriched by spring floods. A hippo, ears waggling, gazes lazily at the bank. The farmer feels the heat, pauses from plowing and walks to the cooling water's edge. Quick as a flash he is gone in a splash - never even saw the crocodile. 1-30-2002Humor? Written January 30th, 2002 © on Jan 30 2002 09:47 AM PST, Heinz Scheuenstuhl 0 • 14
