Immortality
By heinzs
Immortality What a concept! Never to cease, never to die... Time's endless eons beckoning, promising a perpetual future. But what of the present? What of the past? Man was never intended for a life eternal. His spirit continues on, of this I am convinced, but the physical shell, this earthly existence, serves a greater purpose best delivered by finite mortality. This is the lesson, the dichotomous nature of the Universe. Without death, what is life? Without sorrow and pain, what is joy? Pleasure? Without the existence of evil, how can we define good? Without the perception of hate, how do we appreciate love? So in our sojourn on this spinning marble, let our lives reflect all with which we are imbued. Remember the past. Live in the present. Look to the future. The lesson is never done, even after death, for death itself is only a small part of the lesson of life. 3/20/2002 Written March 20th, 2002 © on Mar 20 2002 03:47 AM PST, Heinz Scheuenstuhl 0 • 10
