Life's A Dream (survivor challenge)
By heinzs
Life's A Dream I lie alone in the torrid darkness, Dream of places not yet seen. My mind's eye seeking adventure, Life passes me by. I taste the bitterness of regret, Live another hour, another day. My heart yearning to fly free, Dreams of Camelot of yore. Reality is a bleak, featureless plain, And I tire of its desert waste. Fantasy beckons my soul, Intertwine my hopes and fears. My senses reel, spiraling - Soul numb... the bottle is empty. Cries pierce my ears. Out and in, directionless and lost. In drugged detachment I remain. Confusion reigns o'er all And leads me ever deeper. Desperation has won another soul. 3/30/2002This is an acrostic where the first words of each line form another poem.
