Love Poem
By heinzs
I've been away so long - even now I'm not all the way back. I don't know where I was. It must have been a sad place, a bad place, without you there. Am I still welcome here? I'd like to come in from the cold. I'd like to come home. I seem to be lost. Where are you? Where am I? I need directions and your love to guide me. Set it in the window and I will see the light, like a moth, drawing me near. I want to embrace the warmth of your flame. Though it burn me, I am inexorably attracted to you - like a magnet. I have started on the journey to you. The road is rough, the potholes many. I stumble often, unsure on my feet. Can you bear my tortuous advance? So much pain on both sides felt, can we endure yet a bit more? I do not question my own sincerity. Only my actions can hope to demonstrate that to you. And yet I falter. Irrational fear... of what? It chains me with inaction. In desperation I plead for your patience, already o'ertaxed. Guide me!Not sure this is complete... critique and suggestions welcome.
