Ruminations (part 4)

Ruminations (part 4) "... These thoughts have such power over you. From nothing you become sad, From nothing you become happy." ~~~~~~~~Rumi Strange indeed how the mind can slip from one extreme unto the other. The line between emotions is thin... almost non-existent. We slip altogether too easily from joy to grief... from contentment to despair... from love to hate. What triggers such dichotomy... such schizophrenic shifts? It is a universal truth that for each and every positive event an equal and opposite negative exists. This does not, however, hold true that the obverse is inescapable. Though balance seems to demand this cosmic tit-for-tat, in fact these concepts represent only potentials, not pre-destined physical realities. Man's God-given free will permits, nay demands that he not sit idly by while the world crumbles to ruin around him. We have the power to deny evil... to hold the pendulum's swing in place on the positive side of existence. That is our greatest task, our mission, to control our acts prior to commission. 12-30-2001 Written December 30th, 2001 © on Dec 30 2001 08:38 AM PST, Heinz Scheuenstuhl 0 • 12
