Ruminations (part 6) "You have searched the whole world for life yet in your own heart you will die. You were born in the blissful arms of union yet alone you will die. You have fallen asleep by the edge of a lake and now you are thirsty. You sit on top of a treasure yet in utter poverty you will die. ~~~~~~~~ Rumi Why is it that man always fails to see that which abides before him in plain view? God's glory surrounds us on every side, yet we constantly beseech him to show us what is there to be seen. Love abounds, and we squander it in petty squabbles, then bemoan its loss. The message is clear - live life today! Enjoy the companionship of your fellows and drink deeply of the spirit of the world. Experience the vast pleasures of your birthright and God-given treasures. We can choose to make of this Earth our Eden, or we can live our lives in a Hell of our own creation. The choice is ours to make, the tools have been given. Take up your arms, you righteous souls, and reclaim that to which we all belong. Compassion, love, tolerance and cooperation~ let these be the passwords of our generation. 1-1-2002Well, maybe I'd better put good old Rumi to bed for a while (grin). I think I've worn out my welcome with him. Written January 1st, 2002 © on Jan 01 2002 06:49 AM PST, Heinz Scheuenstuhl    0 • 12
