The Experiment, part I
By heinzs
As I sit and ponder, In my mind I wonder At Man's existence. The image of persistence Is one that worries me -- We are an experiment, you see. Just as we, in culture dishes, Grow disease bacteria vicious, So our own manifestation Is a biological infestation On this culture globe, our Earth. We are tested for our worth By super beings - gods, I guess, Who like to put us under stress, And in their scientific test Find out how we respond the best. Laboratory rats on a human scale -- The evidence will tell the tale. We jump through hoops before us set, Like Pavlov's dogs respond, and yet, Something greater we've achieved. For this I sigh, and am relieved, For in our own inimitable fashion We have developed what we call - Compassion! 11-09-2001 Written November 9th, 2001 © on Nov 09 2001 05:56 AM PST, Heinz Scheuenstuhl 0 • 10
