The Older Couple He eats the soup she has set before him, his thin wrinkled hand trembles as if from the weight of the spoon. She dabs his lip gently with the napkin then rushes off to argue with the cashier and find a glass of water. He smiles when she returns. She talks incessantly about everything and nothing. He takes her hands in his and looks deeply into her eyes. She returns his gaze - they smile as one as if contemplating their days.
