life came to a stand still, an empty placehelpless was i to intervene on my own behalfyour words were sharp bladesswift,and ancient as only time can bepain for decades was the proving of your truthit had to be, then, the way it wasbut still I couldn't help but die insidemy soul withering with every step you tookin a direction that was not in step with mineso many steps you have takenyou could have chosen lessi could have chosen morein the leaving you left behind a manstunned and baffledno real end was accomplishedno closure for those traumatized in the fall-outjust an abrupt pausewith no return to play in sightthis is that pain which has become my virtuemy hold on the past, used to shape my futurethe greatest lesson you ever taughtyou taught the day that you un-touched meThis is just the way it is, I'm afraid.
