The Gift

By hyargo

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

There will come a day, and soon, When I stand naked before you, Exposing more than bare skin, Offering more than my body. Will you open out your arms? Would it come as no surprise? Will you recognize it, This treasure I offer you? Or would you only take it, The surface of what you see? Never seeing the beauty within, Never knowing the true gift. So what will you do then, With such a precious gift? For that is what it will be, More dear than you may know. Written January 13th, 2002 © on Mar 11 2002 10:43 AM PST   18 • 0 • 16
