Heritage Reborn (a cinquain)
Driven from places they loved by forces unknown to others bringing about their painted faces of war. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ their food diminished by hunters, taking all they can, leaving nothing left, land barren. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Once proud now helpless, left homeless, starving, alone, to live their lives the way of the white man. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And now said Indian living the only way he can, to provide for his own, dreaming. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ of a life where once more the land belongs to those, that were here, heritage reborn again.
