Boxes
By janmew
Big boxes wrapped all in silver and gold. It would be this way if I could give you the world; if I could give you the sunset and the sky at dawn, the aurora's dance and the lonely loon's song. Boxes for gifts of magnificence too. It would be that way if I could give them to you. If I could give you a fancy gift from some store, expensive and grand, worth every penny and more. Boxes so big, or boxes so small, it isn't what's in them that matters at all. A small lock of hair, or a silly old bear? A card or a picture, or something to wear? But if the box seems humble and small, and when opened it even holds nothing at all, look deep within it, for there you will find a gift just for you; the greatest gift of all kind. The smallest of boxes is all that I need, but my gift to you is priceless indeed. It's the feeling of giving, but more than that part, it's my love that I give, with a piece of my heart Written October 26th, 2001 © on Oct 26 2001 08:13 AM PST 0 • 8
