A Secret No More

By Jenni

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

For ten long years we suppressed our love, Known and approved only by Him above. To us it seemed like a thousand years, From the world outside, we hid our fears. A thousand years or torture we did endure; A thousand years of pain made us sore; A thousand heartaches we both recall, Throughout the years, we both stood tall. The world closed in on us tonight- "They" tried to deny us the need to unite. Our love had grown stronger year by year, We had to show the world we cared. The time was right, so we opened the door. Now our love is a secret no more. Married today, I'm as happy as a lark, Our secret has finally come out of the dark. ****************************           To: My husband of 23 years....
