The Risks Of The Road
By Jenni
Life is a journey we take every day, It leads us to a twisting, turning highway. Rich or poor, young or old, We all travel this highway, or so I'm told. This road stretches on ahead of us, It doesn't help much if we fuss. It passes inviting, shady nooks, Hot, barren plains and running brooks. It branches in the most perplexing way, And without the signpost, we tend to stray, Over dangerous bridges and turbulent streams, It fills our minds with enticing dreams. Haven't you ever felt the temptation to roam, The attraction of simply leaving home? The chance to stop and gather some flower, Or take a chance that would give you some power? Oh, my dear little traveller, please take care, While on this journey, always beware. The risks of the road are so many, And this perpetual tugging isn't worth a penny.
