Fading Love
By Jewel
He stands tall and proud, trying to find the place in-between, ever so proudly takes control, a firm hold and walks on yet inside I can see the pain in his eyes the perfect surface fading into a circle of emotion I too can turn my back and walk away outwardly you will never see a tear courage my virtue, confidence my resting place but we know it doesn't stop the fear lingering looks of growing passion stolen moments so carelessly plucked from time we cast them to one side, take a breathe and walk away carry on, standing strong - we whisper that we're fine Yet, it is in the darkest hours I feel it the most it is then I realise how we are so alone turning in my sleep, I will this to end and secretly dread the day you return home My heart aches for the pain you must feel my only hope in this dying facade is that of a reason why we fell on this path to live, to learn, and remember love even if it can't be carried on this way I will remember the pages of this untold story the ache inside of what we so carelessly forgot although I wonder if the last page has been turned right now in time I will close this chapter leave it to fate, and bury my hurt Written October 25th, 2001 © on Oct 25 2001 11:01 AM PST 18 • 0 • 8
